DETAILS:
  • Each registrant gets a FREE TICKET with their name tag and instructions on how to fill out the opportunity drawing ticket. (Only need to print NAME on it since ALL WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT at Evening Concert and Opportunity Drawings.)

  • TICKETS are sold: 1 for $1, 7 for $5, 15 for $10, 25 for $15, 35 for $20.

  • The person writes their name on the ticket part that has lines for name; the other part they keep.

  • They will put the part with their name into the bag for the item they'd like to win.

  • Each donated item gets written down on a MASTER PAGE, and assigned a NUMBER.

  • Each item gets a PAPER BAG for TICKETS with the name of the item and the number written on it; large items are displayed on a table with the bag near the item it applies to.

  • The MASTER PAGE, will list WHO DONATED each item (unless you desire to remain anonymous), and whether it’s homemade, etc.

  • Homemade items are the most desirable, along with musical items (instruments, books, CDs, dulcimer paraphernalia.) At the Hammered Dulcimer Rendezvous weekend workshop in Sandy, Oregon, home-made items are a hit. Everything from home-made fruit jams, bird houses, dulcimer hammers, and musical instruments have been donated for their drawings. Musical items of all sorts have also been big crowd pleasers! Consider potted plants, art, quilted/knit items, gift baskets, etc. (Please - no alcohol or messy items;-)

  • Opportunity Drawings at Evening Concert: For each item - the designated speaker reads aloud the winning ticket name, name of the item, and the name of the donor. "Runners "are organized so that the distribution of the items to the winners in the audience takes place as fast as possible, one after another.

Thanks to Mick Doherty, chair of Hammered Dulcimer Rendezvous Weekend Workshop, Sandy, Oregon each Spring for providing details of this creative, fun, inspiring fund-raiser for our nonprofit organization.
This was quite a hit at last year’s SCDH Festival!!!
